Override a rule
Override introduction and user journey
Ā
Ā
Restricting a rule is to disable the booking rule in a specific scenario, for exampleCreating a rule override is to adjust the booking rule in a specific scenario, for example, you might have a booking rule set for all users but want to override that rule by having slightly adjusted booking settings for the finance team for example. To override a rule, first select which rule is best to override and then select the āoverrideā button.
Ā
When the override button has been selected, a modal will open giving users the ability to select override configuration options. The first page is focussed on providing information about the scenario you want the override to apply to. The override may be narrowing the scope, resource type or user group the rule is adjusted for.
Ā
Currently, the scope is set to āICentrum > Allā meaning booking settings is currently applied everywhere in ICentrum, when overriding a rule we can either keep the scope the same or refine it further.
Ā
Override your rule for specific resource types by selecting point categories. This will override the rule for point types with selected categories (e.g you want to slightly adjusted booking rules for desks with multi-monitor tag applied).
Ā
Override rules for specific users by selecting user categories. When user categories in this field have been selected, this will adjust the rule for users with all selected categories applied to their user profile. (e.g users with both finance and remote worker tag applied to their user profile).
Ā
When user categories in this field have been selected, override will apply for users with any of the selected categories applied to their user profile. (e.g users with finance or remote worker tag applied to their user profile).
Ā
Access activation and expiry dates of the override to allow you to forward plan booking in your building and implement rules that consider any upcoming changes to users and spaces.
Ā
Users can override original rule to provide rotational schedule for booking rules to enable booking on specific days of the week, for as many weeks as are defined in the schedule. This could be used to stagger bookings in the office for certain teams to ensure everyone isnāt just booking desks at the start of the week. To create a schedule select āadd weekā and choose the days you want booking to be enabled. When the schedule rule has been created, unless a specified active date has been specified, it will start immediately and continue to alternate the weekly schedules configured.
Ā
When the journey has been continued, users are reminded of the scenario selected on the previous page at the top of the modal.
Ā
Users can adjust and define complex booking settings for the overriden rule. These rules can be accessed by expanding the rule section panels and either adding or adjusting rules in each section.
Ā
At the top of each rule section panel, the user is shown details about the rule they are overriding, this is to remind the user of the settings currently in place and keep them informed about their decisions.
